Tyler Brooks
Tyler Brooks is the editor of Car Insurance for 18 Year Olds. He spent six years as a licensed property and casualty agent in Middle Tennessee, where a large share of his work was writing first policies for young adults and explaining to parents why adding a teenager cost what it did.
He started the site in 2023 to answer the questions he heard most—own policy or parents', which car, how long until it drops—in one place and in plain language. He no longer holds an active licence and does not sell insurance.
Tyler lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
